Ingredients: 1 lb. pork bulk sausage, browned & crumbled 1/2 cup finely chopped onion 2 Tbsp fat from sausage 1 can (1 lb. 13-oz.) tomatoes 1/2 cup instant nonfat dry milk 1 can (6-oz) tomato paste 1 tsp salt 1 tsp crushed oregano 1/2 lb. shredded Provolone or Cheddar cheese 1 recipe of Baking Powder Biscuits

Instructions: Preheat oven to 400 F. Cook sausage in skillet - take out and set aside. Drain off all fat except 2 Tbsp. Cook onion in this fat until tender. Add tomatoes, nonfat dry milk, tomato past, salt, and oregano. *Simmer gently, about 40 minutes until thick. Spread on biscuit dough - dot with sausage, and top with cheese. Bake 20 minutes. Cut and serve immediately. *While mixture is cooking, prepare 1 recipe for biscuits. Roll very thin and place on pan or cookie sheet. |
